Finland

A beauty commercial for Finnish brand Cutrin called for a meeting of landscape with the soul of Finnish femininity. Maestro director Michael Lindsay aimed to collide the change of seasons and landscapes with a feminine Finnish 'Sisu'... to explore the beauty and resilience that is built through this drama. The shoot was to begin in the Arctic North and then finish in the South, in the beautiful rocky coastline of the Finnish Baltic.

For the shoot we employed two Red Weapon bodies, a Handheld A camera and a B body mounted in a gimbal. The majority of the work was handheld, this giving us the breathy immediacy we were after. Both bodies ran Kippertie OLPF diffusion and a mix of Masterprimes and Angenieux zooms. The work with model Emilia Vilo was all on the Masterprimes... these shooting exclusively at T1.3

The end results were quite magical. The combination of diffusion and the Masterprimes wide open gave us the look we were after while the Finnish light and landscape seduced us with its majesty.
